Cantina del Castello
The Cantina del Castello is located in the Sanbonifacio Count's Palace in Corte Pittora no. 5, a charming vineyard just below the Scaligero Castle in the heart of the medieval village of Soave. Corte Pittora owes its name to an ancient noble family from Verona, the Pittora, who had the palace built in the 13th century before it passed into the hands of the Sanbonifacio Counts. Legend has it that the tunnel underneath the palace was once used as a passageway to the Castle itself. This why the vineyard is known today as the Cantina del Castello ("Castle VIneyard").
