Charles R Vineyards and Winery
Cradled in the golden crested hills of South Livermore Valley, discover Charles R Vineyard’s unique winery and tasting room. Approaching the winery is an experience within itself, travel back in time on an old mine road and capture a glimpse of Livermore’s rich past. At the end of the road sits a quaint building shaded by large Oak trees, but “don’t judge a book by its cover”.
Sourcing only the finest fruit, Charles R Vineyards is continually receiving recognition for their expressive quality. From the ranch style entrance to the folded landscape surrounding the tasting room, there is a welcoming quality revealing the casual refinement intrinsic to Livermore Valley Wine Country.
Owning the property for 30 years, Dick (Charles) and Bonnie Bartlett entered the wine industry using their large shed as a storage cellar for local wineries. Once you get a “taste” of winemaking, your life is changed and the family decided to begin crafting their own wine.
Today, with 3 generations of Bartletts assisting in the winemaking process, Charles R Vineyard’s dedication is rewarded with constant top placement in reputable wine competitions. This winery is a destination point you mustn’t miss, bring a picnic lunch and sit on the beautiful back patio with a bottle of Charles R wine shared amongst friends. While visiting this rustic retreat, listen carefully, you can hear a faint whisper of the past endlessly echoing down the canyon rift Charles R Vineyards affectionately calls home.
